Valleys take out Under 7s ALP Shield

25 August 2016 –

This year’s ALP Shield was hosted by St Joseph’s JRLC. It was a great day with teams from all over Brisbane’s northside coming together to play. The event is designed as a showcase for junior rugby league with enjoyment for all participants and education for prospective players and parents as the main goal.

Brothers stars Harrison and Matilda

It was a great day for me with two local junior rugby league clubs from my electorate competing. Congratulations to Brothers JRLC who competed well all day and to Valleys for winning the Shield.

Congratulations also to Matilda who played for Brothers. She was the only girl playing in the weekend competition and was a star performer along with her brother Harrison.

The ALP Shield is an annual rugby league carnival that’s been running since 1982, I’m very pleased to have been one of the sponsors of this year’s event.
