Transition to new Queensland Community Support Scheme begins

Queensland Community Support Scheme

19 November, 2018 –

As you may be aware, Queensland is in the final year of transition for the NDIS.

Many people who are currently receiving services under the Queensland Community Care program will transition to the NDIS.

However, some existing Queensland Community Care service users may not be eligible for the NDIS.

Those who are not eligible for the NDIS, will transition into the new Queensland Community Support Scheme (QCSS) from 1 July 2019 and will continue to receive supports appropriate to their needs and within the scope of the new program.

It’s important that those service users who have a disability determine that they are not NDIS eligible before 31 March 2019 to continue to receive services under the new scheme.

Tender proposals for service providers

As the current Queensland Community Care program ends on 30 June 2019, I am encouraging service providers to consider providing a tender proposal under the new Queensland Community Support Scheme.

The Queensland Community Support Scheme will comprise of three support types – in home support, community connection, and information and referral.

Interested service providers can provide a tender proposal by visiting www.hpw.qld.gov.au/qtenders

Tenders close on Thursday, 13 December 2018.
