TenantConnect – Have your say

13 November, 2018 –

The My Home Awards I recently attended are pretty special and recognise our tenants who invest significant time, effort and resources into making their homes beautiful.

The awards, held in 22 Housing Service Centre regions across Queensland, recognise gardens “no matter if they are in a backyard, on a balcony, or the communal garden tended by a number of tenants”.

A place to call home is more than just a roof over our heads. It’s about the way we live and how we connect and contribute to our community.

TenantConnect is the Palaszczuk Government’s new tenant engagement program for public housing tenants and an important initiative of the Queensland Housing Strategy 2017—2027.

We are working with community partners to connect tenants to a range of activities and events, such as:

  • training and job-readiness programs
  • health and well-being activities
  • digital skills development
  • community events.

If you’re living in public housing, we would like to hear from you about the activities you’re interested in, and how you’d like to get involved in TenantConnect and your community.

You can find out more information online at www.qld.gov.au/tenantconnect, by visiting your local Housing Service Centre, or by emailing tenantconnect@hpw.qld.gov.au
