19 August, 2019 –
Community-based not-for-profit organisations – applications are now open for the next round of funding for Skilling Queenslanders for Work.
Since 2015, this program has assisted more than 24,000 Queenslanders to get a job.
Skilling Queenslanders for Work provides training to disadvantaged individuals who are under-utilised or under-employed through targeted programs delivered by community organisations with not-for-profit objectives, in partnership with training providers.
Recent successful applicants include the Multicultural Community Centre at Newmarket who are delivering two SQW projects: assisting culturally diverse jobseekers to gain skills in early childhood education, aged care, and disability support; and providing employment to migrants and refugees through business traineeships.
Funding applications close Thursday 26 September.
If you’re a successful SQW program graduate then I encourage you to inspire others and share your story by nominating to be a SQW Champion.
Information on how to apply for funding, assessment criteria and guides, or information on our Champions program are available from www.qld.gov.au/skillingqueenslanders or call 1300 369 935.
