5 August, 2019 –
The Queensland Competition Authority’s (QCA) has published its report for the June 2019 quarter and it shows that electricity prices in south east Queensland have continued to be relatively stable.
The report demonstrates that the Palaszczuk Government remain on track to meet our commitment to keeping electricity price increases below inflation for South East Queensland households and small businesses, a commitment we have already delivered for regional Queensland.
I encourage SEQ residents to shop around to get the best deal:
Households can save up to $417 a year, on average, by shopping around, with even greater savings for households switching from the highest standing offer.
A small business switching from the average standing offer to the lowest market offer could save $545 over a year.
