2 April, 2019 –
Sexual violence in all forms, including sexual harassment and sexual assault, is unacceptable. I’m proud to be part of a government that is committed to preventing and responding to sexual violence in our communities.
While there has already been progress, there is more work to be done to change community attitudes, prevent sexual violence from occurring, and provide better support for victims and survivors.
On Thursday 18 April, 9.30am – 12 noon, there will be a community forum held at Parliament House in Brisbane’s CBD to continue the conversation about this important issue. I encourage community organisations, leaders and interested members of the public to participate and share their thoughts and experiences.
If you can’t make it to the forum you can still have your say by completing the online Sexual Violence Prevention Survey – visit www.getinvolved.qld.gov.au/gi/consultation/5710/view.html
Young people (13–25) can also get involved by completing the survey via the Youth eHub – visit https://e-hub.engagementhub.com.au/sexual-violence-prevention-framework-consultation-
