Queensland Youth Week 2020 – grants and artwork competition

Queensland Youth Week 2020 artwork competition

19 November,2019 –

Applications are now open for young people, community organisations and P&Cs to share in $50,000 worth of grants to celebrate Queensland Youth Week 2020 (QYW20).

QYW20 will be held from 1–9 April 2020. This year’s theme is ‘Yeah the youth!’ – a call of friendship and unity between young people and was suggested by the Queensland Youth Engagement Panel.

Last year, we saw approximately 300 events held across Queensland, and we’d love to see even more in 2020.

There’s also a great range of prizes on offer for young creatives to design artwork that can be used as the vibrant backdrop for QYW20.

Stafford’s community groups and P&Cs can apply for funding of up to $2,000 to hold events and activities that celebrate our young people (aged 12-25) and their passion for making the world a better place.

Young people who have great ideas for an event or activity can also apply for a community grant – they just need to partner with an eligible organisation.

QYW20 is looking for designs from young artists (aged 13–25) to represent this year’s theme – ‘Yeah the youth!’.

This is a great way for aspiring creatives to have a go at making their mark, with the winning artwork used across QYW20 promotions and materials.

The winner will receive a $500 Mastercard gift card, a Wacom Intuos Pro Medium with Pro Pen 2 graphic design tablet valued at $399, and a DJI Osmo Mobile 3 Gimbal valued at $159.

Two runners-up will each receive a $100 JB Hi-Fi voucher.

Grant applications and competition entries both close midnight Sunday 15 December 2019.
