Queensland Seniors Week provides opportunities to promote positive community attitudes towards older people and ageing, facilitate community participation, and enhance community connections.
With 718,000 people over the age of 65, Queensland Seniors Week is a major event.
During 18-26 August 2018, Seniors Week will connect communities, providing opportunities for people to share and learn new experiences, discover services and support, and assist in reducing social isolation.
Seniors Week 2018 continues to celebrate ‘A Queensland for All Ages’ and encourages people to get involved by hosting or attending events.
The Queensland Government provides $100,000 to subsidise events and activities held during Queensland Seniors Week.
Not-for-profit, charitable and community organisations, schools, local government and libraries can apply for up to $1,000 to run activities and events during Seniors Week.
