Works rescheduled for Newmarket Station footbridge

Newmarket Station temporary footbridge closure

14 March, 2019 –

Due to adverse the weather forecast, works have been rescheduled for the footbridge at Newmarket Station.

The Abuklea Street station entrance and footbridge at Newmarket station will now be closed from 6:30am Thursday 21 March to 6pm Sunday 24 March while Queensland Rail undertakes flooring and drainage works over the four days to reduce water pooling after heavy rain.

The lift will operate between the subway and the platform only (closed between the footbridge level and platform).

People may experience some chemical odour while flooring resin is being laid down.

Pedestrian access to the station platforms will be via the Wilston Road level crossing and from the Wilston Road (or lower) subway entrance (see map below).

The footbridge will reopen from the first rail service on Monday 25 March.
