The Premier’s Reading Challenge has kicked off. We want all children from Prep to Year 9 around the state to have a strong foundation in literacy and that’s what the Premier’s Reading Challenge is all about.
We know literacy is a powerful tool which gives children the best start at school. In 2019, more than 2.31 million books were read by more than 168,000 Queensland children and students.
Students can read books at home, listen to an audio book and access the wide range of resources on the Premier’s Reading Challenge website.
The Queensland Department of Education has also partnered with Channel 9 to deliver reading@home TV to support language and literacy development for children in kindergarten to Year 3.
