6 February, 2020 –
If you’re aged 15-25 and want to get involved and represent Stafford then I encourage you to nominate for the 2020 YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament (QYP).
Now in its 25th year, QYP is an opportunity for young people to represent their communities and learn first-hand about parliamentary processes.
This is a fantastic program which helps develop lifelong skills and has the potential to open up new employment pathways.
Each year the program brings together 93 young people (representing each electorate in the state) to hold workshops and debate issues they feel strongly about.
The program runs from April until October, and committees will collaborate both face-to-face and remotely to write their bills, and to design and implement community action plans.
Participants in Year 11 and 12 can receive one point toward their Queensland Certificate of Education after completing their Certificate of Education after completing the program, as YMCA is accredited by the Queensland Studies Authority.

Nominations close at 11:59pm on Sunday 16 February 2020.
