New funding grants open for local community groups

28 July 2015 –

The new round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund opens this week. The fund provides grants of up to $35,000 for sporting and community organisations.

Seven community groups in Stafford were among 600 around Queensland to successfully apply for grants in the last round. In this round $13.15 million is available for Queensland’s clubs and community organisations.

In this round the committee is particularly focused on funding community groups in need of facility upgrades and equipment. The committee will also pay careful consideration to applicants who have not received a grant in the past two years or have been affected by natural disaster. For an organisation to be eligible they must have not-for-profit objectives, be community based and be registered with the Community Benefit Funds Unit as a legal entity or sponsored organisation.
