Introducing monthly rego payments

Queensland number plates

29 October, 2019 –

The Palaszczuk Government is focused on reducing cost of living pressures for Queensland families.

That’s why we’re introducing a one month rego option to make it even easier for Queenslanders to manage their payments, just like they would with their phone or internet.

The new direct debit service is now being tested and Queenslanders will be able to sign up online when it’s launched in the coming months.

Across the board, we’re seeing more flexibility when it comes to paying for services and utilities, to help Queenslanders better manage household budgets.

We recently surveyed Queenslanders and found one-in-five said they wanted to be able to pay rego and third-party insurance monthly.

The Palaszczuk Government has reduced the rego increase to CPI. In this year’s budget we announced over $2.9 billion in transport concessions which provides an average of over $700 saving for over 101,000 Queensland vehicle owners.
