6 March, 2020 –
The latest round of the Palaszczuk Government’s successful Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) initiative is now open.
This initiative is a great way for organisations to deliver programs to assist people looking for the right opportunity. Almost $24 million was allocated in the last round to support over 3,200 Queenslanders to gain job-ready skills and training.
SQW funds skills development, training and job opportunities for unemployed, disengaged or disadvantaged Queenslanders through a suite of targeted skills and training programs.
Participants gain skills and confidence through hands-on support, with more than 70% going on to get a job or further training once they graduate.
Since reinstating SQW in 2015, the Palaszczuk Government has committed more than $375 million to assist 63,071 people across the state, with projects running here in the South East all the way to the Torres Strait and Western Queensland.
