Last week I was delighted to speak at the launch of Friends of St Columba’s. St Columba’s is an iconic landmark that is treasured by Wilston parishioners and the wider community. It also happens to be where my mother-in-law went to the parish school.
The church was build in the early 1900s – now 100 years old it is in need of some repairs and maintenance. Father Michael Grace of St Columba’s said there were a number of issues with the church that need addressing including the church roof, rising damp, and maintenance of the stain glass windows.
