After more than 40 years in operation, the Dysart substation will receive a $31 million upgrade.

The $31m upgrade will further secure electricity supply for the Dysart township and neighbouring communities, a number of coal mines and the regional rail network.

The Dysart substation has served the region since 1974 and will be rebuilt to ensure it continues to provide safe and reliable supply.

Work at the joint Powerlink Queensland/ Ergon Energy substation will support up to 48 jobs and is expected to be completed in mid-2020.
