May is Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month

Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month

3 May, 2019 –

Although we speak out strongly against domestic and family violence as a society, it continues because, as individuals, we often choose to stay silent – as a surgeon I often saw the terrible effects of this violence.

There are many ways that we can take up the challenge to help put an end to domestic and family violence, and help build awareness.

Visit qld.gov.au/notnownotever to view videos and images of local initiatives, and access resources to promote the Not Now, Not Ever message.

Once you’ve decided on the action you will take, you can upload short home-made videos of your initiatives to the website to develop an online canvas of all the wonderful work that Queensland clubs, schools, workplaces, neighbourhoods, and communities are doing to change the culture of violence in our community.

If you would like more information, email the Not Now, Not Ever team at notnownotever@csyw.qld.gov.au
