3 August, 2018 –
Let’s celebrate and showcase our cultural diversity during Queensland Multicultural Month this August.
Our State is a multicultural success story, it is home to people from more than 220 different countries and territories, who speak more than 180 languages at home and identify with over 110 different faiths.
Queensland Multicultural Month celebrates this diversity with events throughout August – check out the calendar at www.qld.gov.au/QMM
The Palaszczuk Government promised to make Queensland a more inclusive and cohesive State – through Queensland Multicultural Month and our increased funding for Multicultural Affairs, we are delivering on that pledge.
We have committed a record $15.5 million in funding to Multicultural Affairs for 2018–19 and this will increase opportunities for communities to come together and share their cultural heritage.
If you would like any further information or resources on Queensland Multicultural Month, please contact the team at QMM@dlgrma.qld.gov.au or phone 07 3452 6734.
With your support and participation, Queensland Multicultural Month will be a success.
