16 March, 2020 –
Stafford is a culturally rich and diverse community and this is well worth celebrating this Harmony Week.
With Queensland being home to people who speak more than 180 languages and come from more than 220 countries, the Palaszczuk Government will always support multicultural communities and work hard to make our state an inclusive place where everyone belongs.
Harmony Week runs from 15-21 March, culminating this Saturday with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
Wear orange this week to signify social communication and meaningful conversations. Orange also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect.
In light of international events such as Coronavirus, it is even more important that we reach out to each other and spread a message of peace, harmony and belonging.
