17 December, 2018 –
From Saturday 22 to Saturday 29 December, tracks will be closed on the Ipswich, Springfield and inner city lines so Queensland Rail can carry out essential track and signal upgrades.
These works can only be safely completed when there are no trains operating for an extended period. To minimise impacts, these works will be done through the Christmas holiday period when people traveling by train is significantly lower than at other times.
It’s important to plan ahead, as the following stations will be closed:
- Roma Street to Darra (Ipswich & Springfield line), 22-29 December
- Albion/Bowen Hills to Park Road (Inner City lines), 25, 26 & 29 December
Buses will replace trains on affected lines to make sure people can still travel during this period. These will operate to a high frequency, with buses every 10 minutes during the morning and afternoon peaks during business days and every 20 minutes during the off-peak, public holidays and weekends.
Some buses will be accessible, however it’s best to call ahead if you have accessibility requirements.
Before the track closure call 13 16 17 or text 0428 774 636.
During the track closure call 13 12 30.
Timetables for replacement buses will be available on the Journey Planner section of the Translink website. For more information about track closures, replacement bus timetables and stop locations visit https://translink.com.au/service-updates/204196
