QBuild is now hiring and is looking for apprentices and skilled tradespeople in the areas of carpentry, painting, plumbing and refrigeration mechanics.

QBuild is the State Government’s commercialised building and maintenance services business unit, with more than 1,000 staff, 22 offices and a network of depots across the state.

The unit is responsible for procuring, managing and helping to deliver building works and maintenance services for government-owned facilities, including schools, hospitals and police stations. And, in a disaster event, QBuild completes repairs and building works to help communities get back on their feet.

QBuild is hiring 300 trade staff over the next three years. This will be made up of 80 qualified tradespeople and 20 apprentices each year over the next three years to 2022.

The first intake will be 40 qualified tradespeople, to start work in January 2020.

The first apprentices will start work in March 2020.

A second intake of 40 qualified tradespeople will take place in May 2020.
