2015.08.23_Mates4Mates2Last weekend I took part in the Mates4Mates WW1 Queenslander Challenge

The event was part of the ANZAC centenary commemorations. The challenge was a trek of 100 kilometres through some pretty rugged terrain finishing up at the Woodford RSL. Each walker carried with them a brick with the name of a fallen soldier from the first world war engraved on it. These bricks will eventually become part of two new memorials.

I participated the first leg of the journey as part of Team Swanny, which included Wayne Swan MP, Leanne Linard MP, Stirling Hinchliffe MP, Senator Chris Ketter, and Pat O’Neill.

It was an amazing event and I was honoured to be part of it.   2015.08.22Mates4Maste7 2015.08.23_Mates4Mates1
