Last weekend I took part in the Mates4Mates WW1 Queenslander Challenge
The event was part of the ANZAC centenary commemorations. The challenge was a trek of 100 kilometres through some pretty rugged terrain finishing up at the Woodford RSL. Each walker carried with them a brick with the name of a fallen soldier from the first world war engraved on it. These bricks will eventually become part of two new memorials.
I participated the first leg of the journey as part of Team Swanny, which included Wayne Swan MP, Leanne Linard MP, Stirling Hinchliffe MP, Senator Chris Ketter, and Pat O’Neill.
