The Queensland Government is asking locals to have their say on how Queensland can become a more age-friendly community.
The Government is asking to public to put forward ideas that help better support seniors in the community. The best ideas will them be incorporated into a new seniors strategy – Queensland an age-friendly community.
This strategy will provide direction for government policies and programs. The plan is to promote ideas that encourage people of all ages to take part in community activities, and to treat people with respect, regardless of their age.
Seniors have contributed all through their lives to our community and it is important we value their contributions and knowledge.
The survey only takes a few minutes to complete and I encourage locals of any age to have their say. We are committed to supporting our ageing population which is why we dedicated $7.5 million towards seniors support programs in the last budget.
