31 October 2016 –
I’m encouraging Stafford’s community organisations to apply for a share of $50,000 to hold celebrations during next year’s National Youth Week.
I’m also encouraging local young people to put their hand up to become a National Youth Week Champion and get involved in organising the week. National Youth Week is our biggest celebration of young people and we want all Queenslanders to get involved.
Community organisations can apply for grants of up to $1,500 to host events that celebrate the contributions of young people and bring people of all ages together.
The Queensland Government has provided $50,000 to the PCYC to plan and deliver events and activities for young people in the lead-up to, and during, National Youth Week.
National Youth Week 2017 will be held from 31 March to 9 April 2017.
Applications for community grants close 4 December 2016.
Nominations for National Youth Week Champions close 13 November 2016.
