Seniors Week – free public transport this weekend

August 20, 2015 –
Happy Seniors Week! As part of this year’s celebrations Queensland seniors will be able to travel for free on all TransLink and qconnect services this weekend, 22 and 23 August.

Seniors Week is about recognising the valuable contribution of older people in Queensland’s communities. This year’s theme ‘It’s on for young and old’ is about uniting Queenslanders no matter their age.

Seniors will be able to present their Seniors card, instead of touching on with their go-card or buying a paper ticket, to travel for free.

Travelling in South East Queensland from the first service on Saturday, 22 August until the last service on Sunday 23, August seniors won’t need to touch on or off with their go-card on TransLink buses, trains, ferries, and trams – instead they should proudly show their Seniors Card and travel free.

To find out more about Seniors Week events and activities visit www.cotaqld.org.au or phone COTA Queensland on 1300 738 348.
