Tuesday (May 12) was International Nurses’ Day and I was fortunate to be able to visit and speak with nurses at the Price Charles Hospital.
There are over 35,000 nurses working across Queensland, everyday of the year providing the best possible care.
Nurses are highly-skilled and work in very challenging conditions. I’ve worked in hospitals and know how much nurses do and how hard they work. I’ve also seen the way they make a huge difference to their patients’ lives.
The Palaszczuk Labor Government is committed to rebuilding Queensland’s health workforce by creating new nursing positions across the state. We want to re-focus on our health system on patient safety and provide the care patients need sooner. A key part of this is making sure we have a stable, highly-trained nursing workforce.
