The Back to Work South East Queensland program provides support for employers who hire long-term unemployed or young unemployed jobseekers.

The Budget has committed $27.5 million to introduce employer support payments to eligible employers in South East Queensland who take on a long-term unemployed or young unemployed jobseekers from 1 July 2017.

The program gives employers the confidence to take on someone new and the opportunity to grow their business.

Payments are available up to:

  • $15,000 for eligible employers if they hire a jobseeker who has been unemployed for 52 weeks or more, or
  • $20,000 for eligible employers if they hire a young jobseeker aged between 15-24 years who has been previously unemployed for four weeks or more.
